College Emergency Preparedness Update
In light of recent events taking place in our country and the rest of the world, the College continues to take appropriate measures to ensure that it is prepared to respond to emergency situations.
The Campus Police remain in direct contact with the FBI, the Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency, and local law enforcement agencies on a routine basis. Based on the expertise of these organizations, and that of Birmingham-Southern's Campus Police, the College's emergency response plans continue to be reviewed and revised as needed.
In addition, the Campus Emergency Response Team meets on a regular basis. This team is charged with the overall response of the College during an emergency and is comprised of individuals from a variety of different areas on campus such as the Campus Police, Student Development, Operations, and Communications, among others.
While it cannot be predicted what the future holds, the College feels certain that it has a sound plan in place to address any emergency, whether it be natural or manmade.
The following links have been assembled below to help educate and continually keep the campus community informed during these times of uncertainty.
